Privacy and Security are not the Internet’s strong suit. Everything you create and send on the Internet can be intercepted by someone else. Not only can it be intercepted, but it can be read in plain text. This is one negative impact of the Web. Online privacy and security are serious topics that society hasn’t addressed as much as we should in the past. How do you feel about your privacy online? Criminals are thinking long-term and much of your data that is being collected now can and will be used against you in the future. That’s why many adults are telling young people to be careful who you share your information with. Use the “Grandma Rule.” Anything that is so private that you would share with and confide in your grandmother, you shouldn’t share online.
